'My Mad Fat Diary' Review (No Spoilers)
Hello lovely people of Buzznet! I love watching a new television series but unfortunately, I’m the type of person that can’t keep up with any of them…except for Glee of course. But I recently found a show that I could not stop watching and want more of; this show is called My Mad Fat Diary.

My Mad Fat Diary is based on the book My Fat Mad Teenage Diary which recounts the life of an overweight teen named Rae Earl in the 1980s. Although the show has minor differences from the book, it’s pretty much the same idea.

This show is about a teenage girl named Rae who struggles with her weight, her friends, her family, and her psyche. This series will make you laugh, swoon, cry, and smile. Even if you aren’t experiencing the same things Rae experiences, the show has the ability to make you relate to her somehow.

What I love about the show is that it is so raw and touching. With American shows, everything feels so fake. Everyone has a face caked on with makeup and wear the best clothes and so on and so on. When I was watching this show, I felt like I was watching people I knew. That sounds a bit creepy but that just shows how real it was to me. I love when shows are able to do that.

I recommend everyone to watch this series. It’s powerful and entertaining. My Mad Fat Diary is shown on the British channel E4, but if you’re not from the UK, you can watch it on YouTube. All episodes are about an hour and, trust me, you will not regret it.

The show has also just been re-commissioned for a second season so make sure you watch now!
Will you be watching My Mad Fat Diary? If you did, how did you feel about it?
