'Glee' Recap: Season 4, Episode 2
Wassup Gleeks! I hope you liked last night’s episode of Glee because I sure did! The New Directions did yet another tribute to the one and only Britney Spears in order to get my favorite character, Brittany S. Pierce out of her slump. But I won’t give too much away so early so let’s get onto the recap!
The episode opens up with an awesome Cheerio performance to “Hold It Against Me” by Britney Spears. Brittany is on top at the beginning of the show; she’s head cheerleader, she’s technically still class president, and she’s popular. But things start to take a turn for the worse when Coach Sylvester addresses grades to the airheaded cheerleader. Brittany’s grades are not only worrying Sue, but they’re concerning to Will, Emma, and the whole glee club as well. Brittany has also been depressed because Santana isn’t around.
Oh yeah, you should also know that she isn’t speaking to Lord Tubbington since he joined a gang.

Anyway, Brittany’s life heads towards a downward spiral very quickly. She almost shaves her head, beats up the “paparazzi” with an umbrella, and she even lip synchs at the pep rally! Sounds familiar? Mr. Shue was incredibly upset about the lip synching. This could potentially get them barred from competing in competitions if word gets out. But Brittany reveals to Sam that she staged her downfall in order to make a comeback like Britney Spears. She ends up coming back on top by getting better grades and upholding all her school titles.

Rachel and Kurt now have a huge apartment in a sketchy area in the city. Now, as a New Yorker I have to say that this is HIGHLY unlikely that they would get an apartment so fast and with so much space at that. But this is a show so I’ll just ignore it. Anyway, Brody still wants to get into Rachel’s pants. He basically tells her to forget about Finn and in the end, it seems like Rachel is taking his advice! What’s going to happen to Finchel?!

Jake seems to be getting adjusted to McKinley just fine. In fact, he’s a womanizer! He’s flirted with the entire school and now he has Marley under his spell and Marley falls hard. As soon as you think Marley and Jake might share something special, Kitty pops out of nowhere and reveals she is Jake’s girlfriend! Drama!

Also, Jake and Puck finally meet! Puck basically tells Jake to change his ways by joining the glee club. Puck also accepts Jake as his brother and wants the best for him. With this, Jake finally decides to join the glee club but now things are super awkward because of the whole Marley finding out Kitty is his girlfriend thing.
So much has happened in this episode and it just proves that I was right when I said this season has a lot to offer. I can’t wait for next week!
Sidenotes:
1. Jake can sing to me ANYTIME!

2. Alex Newell (Unique) seems to be the biggest star of the show even though he technically didn’t win The Glee Project. He had more lines and songs than the actual winner of the show, Samuel Larsen (Joe Hart)!

3. It seems like Brody has no classes. He’s always around for some reason. Doesn’t he have a life?
Songs:
1. Tina, Sam, and Joe singing an acoustic version of “Three” by Britney Spears was FANTASTIC. I could not believe how great it was. Great job Glee!
2. Marley and Jake singing “Drive Me Crazy/Crazy” was such a phenomenal performance. I like their chemistry. I don’t really like Marley by herself yet but when she’s with Jake, she seems interesting.
What was your favorite song in this episode? How do you feel about the new season so far?
